Saris Bike Porter Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2015 Ram 1500- Video
Today, on our 2015, Ram 1500, we're going to be going over a test fit of this SARIS Bike Porter, 4-bike carrier. This is going to have an inch and a quarter shank, with a 2 inch sleeve on it, and your part number is going to be, SA404B. Insert your shank into our receiver. With the shank in our 2 inch receiver, let's line up our pin-holes and take our anti-rattle bolt and insert it. Once you have your anti-rattle bolt inserted, screw that in. Since we've got it tightened down as far as we can by hand, let's take our 3/4 inch ratchet and tighten it down the rest of the way. This will help eliminate a lot of the rattle, sway, or wobble we may have left in our hitch, as you can see there. more

Yakima FullTilt Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2015 Ram 1500- Video
Today on our 2015 Ram 1500, we'll be test fitting the Yakima FullTilt 4 Bike Carrier, this has got an inch and quarter shank, with a 2 inch sleeve on it. Its part number's going to be, Y02462. Let's go ahead and do the test fit. Go ahead and take your shank and insert it into your receiver. Make sure that this gray piece is down so you have an easy job inserting it. It also has an auto-locking pin so that won't come out. more

Today on our 2015 Ram 1500, we're going to be going over a test fit of the SportRack Platform Style 4-Bike Rack. It's going to be part number SR2902. It comes with a 2-inch shank. I'm going to go ahead by starting off and inserting that into our 2-inch receiver. Let's go ahead and line up our pin holes. Once you've got them lined up, go ahead and take your anti-rattle bolt that's included, as you can see there, and insert that into our hole and thread it in. more

Thule Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2015 Ram 1500 TH9030XT- Video
Today on our 2015 Ram 1500 we're going to be doing the test fit of the Thule Vertex 5-bike rack. It's got a 2" shank on it for 2" hitches only and the part number is going to be TH9030XT. Let's go ahead and take the shank and insert that into our hitch. Once you get it inserted let's go ahead and line up our pinholes. Once you have those pinholes lined up, go ahead and thread in the bolt. Once you have that threaded in as far as you can get it with your hand, go ahead and use a 3/4" socket to tighten it the rest of the way. more

Saris Freedom Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2015 Ram 1500- Video
Today on our 2015 Ram 1500 Series Crew Cab, we'll be test fitting the Saris Freedom Platform Style Tilting 4 Bike Rack, that's part number SA4414B. This is for 2 inch hitches, we've got a 2 inch receiver here today. We can go ahead and begin by inserting our shank into our receiver. Next thing I'm going to do is we'll line up our pin holes. Once that is lined up we'll take our included anti rattle bolt and thread that through and we'll take our socket wrench and tighten that the rest of the way down. Nice thing about this anti rattle bolt it is going to help reduce the play and rattle within our hitch and our bike rack. more

Today on our 2015 Ram 1500 series crew cab we will be test fitting the Saris Thelma platform-style 3-bike rack. That's part number SA4239B. This can be used for either 1-1/4" or 2" hitches. Today on our 2015 Ram 1500, we'll be doing a test fit of the Hollywood Racks traveler 5-bike carrier. This is going to come with your 2" shank for your 2" hitches only. This is going to be part number HR9200. Let's go ahead and take our shank and insert that into the receiver. Once you've lined up your pin holes, you'll go ahead and take your anti-rattle bolt and thread that in as far as you can. Once you're unable to get it any further by hand, go and use a 3/4" socket to put it the rest of the way in. This anti-rattle bolt will help to eliminate a lot of the sway, rattle, and/or wobble that you may still have in your hitch. more

Let's go ahead and take this shank and insert it into our receiver. Once you've got it inserted, let's go ahead and line up our pin holes. With our pin holes lined up, go ahead and insert your anti-rattle bolt, and thread that in as far as you can by hand. Now tightening this anti-rattle bolt will help to reduce a lot of your sway, rattle, or wobble that you may still have left in your hitch. more

Thule Vertex 4 Hitch Bike Rack Review - 2011 Ram 1500- Video
Today on our 2011 Ram 1500 model, we're going to be test fitting the Thule Vertex, a Folding and Tilting 4 Bike Rack designed for use in 1-1/4" and 2" Hitches, part number TH9029. To begin our test fit, we'll slide the shank of the bike rack into the receiver tube of our hitch. We'll line up our pin holes, thread in our anti-rattle bolt, then tighten it down with our wrench. In this position, our rack is going to offer us about 18" worth of ground clearance. The closest point of the rack to the back of the truck is about 3-1/2" away, and overall we've added about 12-1/2" to the length of our Ram. We'll now pull the gray lever located here at the base of the center mast. This allows us to tilt it away from the vehicle, and as you can see we can fully open our tailgate. With our tailgate closed, and our mast back in its upright position, we'll now pull the gray lever located at the top of the mast. This allows us to swing out our dual cradle arms. With our arms extended, we've added about 36" to the length of our pickup. We're now ready to load up our bike. more

Yakima StickUp 2 Hitch Bike Rack Review - 2014 Ram 2500- Video
Today on our 2014 Ram 2500 Heavy Duty, were going to be test fitting the Yakima StickUp. This is a platform style tilting two bike rack designed for use with 1-1/4 and 2 inch hitches, part number Y02420. To begin our test fit, well slide the shank of the bike rack into the receiver tube of our hitch. Because our truck has a 2-1/2 inch receiver tube, we will be adding a 2-1/2 inch to 2 inch reducer bushing, part number 58102. You can check our website for details on that. Well now line up our pin holes, thread in our anti-rattle bolt and tighten it down with a wrench. more

Once it gets in there you're going to see that pin, in this case it's come out through the smaller hitch pinhole. more

With our rack in this position, it's going to offer us about 17 1/2 inches worth of ground clearance. more

Today on our 2014 Ram 1500, we're going to be test fitting the Swagman Titan. This is a folding style 4 bike rack designed for use 1-1/4" and 2" hitches. Part number is S63410. To begin our test fit, we're going to slide the shank of the rack right into the receiver tube of our hitch. As we slide it in, we'll want to keep an eye to the pin hole on our hitch to see when the hole on our rack is lined up with it. With those lined up, we'll take our anti-rattle bolt, we'll slide it through, and then thread it right in. We'll now take our wrench and tighten that down. With that tight we'll place the provided pin here on the other side to secure it. The Titan is going to offer us about 20-3/4" worth of ground clearance here at the rear. The closest point of the rack to the back of our truck is going to be right there. That's about 5" away. Overall we've added about 20-1/4 to the length of our Ram. There's a black lever located here in between the center mast and the vehicle. more

Today on our 2014 Ram 1500, we're going to be test fitting the Saris Axis. This is a folding and tilting three bike rack, designed for use, 1-1/4 inch and 2 inch hitches, part number SA843B. To begin our test fit, we're going to slide the shank of our bike rack right into the receiver tube of our hitch. We're going to line up your pin holes, then thread in our anti-rattle bolt. We'll do this from the left to the right side. We'll then take a wrench and tighten that down. With that secured, we can take our provided lock, slide it on the other side here, and that will hold that rack in place. Now, we're going to get a set of measurements to determine exactly what kind of clearances we have with our rack. more

As we do, we want to look through the pinhole to see when the hole in our rack lines up with it. We can then take our anti-rattle bolt and thread that in. We can then tighten it down with our wrench. Now with that tight we'll take our provided clip and secure it here on the other side. With our bike rack in this position and our first set of cradles is going to offer us about 18"-3/4" worth of ground clearance, at our second set we're going to have about 25"-1/4" worth of ground clearance. The closest point of the rack to our vehicle will be here, about the middle of that sticker, that's going to be about 6"-3/4" from the bumper of our truck. more

Hollywood Racks Traveler Tow n Go Bike Rack Review - 2014 Ram 1500- Video
Today on our 2014 Ram 1500, we are going to be test fitting the Hollywood Racks Traveler Tow N Go, this is a tilting bike rack part number is HR135. But for our test fit today, we are using an extra long shank hidden hitch ball mount part number is 80232. It is sold separately. To begin our test fit, we'll slide the shank of our ball mount right into the receiver tube of our hitch. As we do this we want to take a look at the hole in the ball mount and the hole in our hitch to get the two lined up. We then going to take a standard pin and we'll slide it through the opening on the receiver tube of our hitch making sure that it also goes through the hole in our ball mount. We'll then secure it just using a standard clip. Now when installed using the standard pin and clip, it does allow for some play and some movement in the rack. more

Today on our 2011 Ram 1500 model were going to be test fitting the Thule Hitching Post Pro. This is a folding and tilting four bike rack designed for use in inch and a quarter or two inch hitches, part number TH934XTR.To begin our test fit were going to slide the shank of the rack right into the receiver tube of our hitch. Well want to keep an eye through the pinhole here to see when we have that hole lined up with it. With our hole lined up well take our anti-rattle bolt, place it in and thread it through. Well then use our wrench to tighten that down. You can see that secures it nicely.Well now get a set of measurements here to see what kind of clearance were working with. more

Softride Hang5 Hitch Bike Rack Review - 2013 Ram 1500- Video
Today on our 2013 Ram 1500 Crew Cab we will be test riding the Softride Hang Five tilting 5-bike rack for 2 inch hitches, part number SR26496. For our test fit today we will be installing the bike rack in two pieces. We'll grab the first half of our rack, slide the shank of the rack into the receiver tube of our hitch, line up our pin holes, thread in our anti-rattle bolt and tighten it with our wrench. With the first half of our rack installed, we have about 19 1/2 inches of ground clearance. The closest point of the rack to the back of our vehicle is about 6 1/4 inches. Overall, we have added about 16 1/4 inches to the length of our Ram. We'll grab the second part of our rack sliding the black square tubes into the openings. more
